It’s a muggy and foggy morning—perfect for penning thoughts, warming up with tea, and connecting with all of you Today’s prompt from WD struck a chord with me, and I wanted to share why.

I’ve been revisiting my Middle Grade book, which, to be frank, has been feeling a bit too predictable. But then I remembered a line from the Goosebumps Movie that RL Stein himself loved (and wished he’d thought of it.) In the film, RL Stein, portrayed by Jack Black, advises his writing class: “In every story there is a beginning, a middle and a twist.”

Inspired, I’ve reshaped the ending of my book to introduce an unexpected turn. It’s invigorated the narrative, though it means extensive revisions. But isn’t that the essence of a writer’s journey?

The following article talks about the false flag – the tactic of deceitfully attributing actions to another party. A relevant idea, considering my story’s main antagonist isn’t the most formidable villain in the story.
